Re: Belt Replacement?
Its really rather easy. Haynes tends to get rather BSed. Theres a 11mm bolt above the emission pump, its right behind the tension pulley. Loosen that about 4 turns. Then you have another bolt on the pivot point of the tensioner, 11mm as well (give or take a mill). Loosen that about 4 turns. The pulley may need to be tapped with a mallet. The tension should come right off. When you get the new one on hand tighten the 2 bolts, then use a crow bar to press the tensioner down, use the water pump pulley for levering. Tighten the belt 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch of play on the longest strip of belt. Then your done. If you get a squeaks from the engine before replacing the belt, its a good idea to take off the tensioner and clean it, then refill it, they tend to sqeak loudly when old. You can get replacement ones for cheap too.
