I've cruised a few threads and read a fair amount about the blower working poorly or intermittently or not at all. How common a problem is this. I have a 1995 GM and the blower works now and again. Its been like -20 degrees and the blower not working is a pain. I am picking up a 2000 CV on Wednesday with the same type of control. I am hoping I don't have a repeat problem.

We've had lots of Crown Vics in our fleet since 92 and haven't had but one blower problem. They aren't known to be a problem. I have a 2000 Crown Vic that has 154000 miles with the same blower and it never failed.

Thanks. I didn't know if the trouble was with the ones with the manual heat/ac controls or the premium automatic ones.

Have you repaired the 95 blower? If not, when does the blower quit?

Sometimes it works really poorly. Blows about half as hard as it should. Then is quits altogether. Works a bit, then quits. Jiggled the resistor but haven't pulled it out yet.

The resistor is usually bad when it only blows on high. There could be other problems with it but that's all we've ever seen. The plug gets hot and arcs the contacts. We replace the plug too.

The blower was replace on my 99' Marquis before I bought it.
