Question Can my straight-pipe f*ck my valves??

I was talking to a a buddy of mine, and he says over time my exhaust valves may get f*cked due to me hackin my muffler-back pipe off. I figure with 2 cats still on there, theres sufficient backpressure, and he somewhat agreed. Just curious of your guys' opinions. I'm throwing a side-pipe on soon for Aircare, and am also wondering if I were to throw a flowmaster muffler on, if it would make it sound nicer... I tried my buddies cherry bomb, and it quietened it down a bit. Any opinions? I just like the sound of a V8, no muffled to sh!t. Thanks!

Darren

Re: Can my straight-pipe f*ck my valves??

Just my two cents but cars at drag strips run with no muffling or cats on the exhaust and they do just fine. I've had v8s before as well with nothing but pipe and thought they were a headache to listen to on the highway for a while they didn't have problems.

I think you will be fine.

If you had very short outlets that were close to the exhaust ports it may make a difference but what you are doing will have no effect.
