completley stumped , severe jerking..

hey guys , my 90 crown vic has developed a weird jerking mainly on light acceleration , if i accelerate hard it goes away for the most part but its pretty bad.. its almost feels like the tranny but if i put it in drive and hold the gas it stumbles from 1000 to 1500 rpm up and down , it almost develops the issuse when its warmed up...

ive replaces wires , plugs , cap , rotor , ignition module ( whole distributor) fuel filter , fuel pump , throttle poison sensor , to no change... i had the injectors professionally cleaned at a shop and none of them are leaking , the check engine light isnt on either.... i thought baby the fuel pressure regulator but im not sure... i pulled the vacuum off it and no gas came out the top though.

any ideas what it may be , im running out of ideas !

Re: completley stumped , severe jerking..

have you taken off your idle air control valve and cleaned it out? another thing, how does you coil look where the wire connects to it? clean it off and use some dielectric grease on it... i am also curious if the trans filter has ever been changed... if you do it, get 5 qts of fluid or a 1 gallon and a single quart...

Re: completley stumped , severe jerking..

i had the iac off last year and cleaned it as good as i could , i have another one so im going to throw it on , i replaced the coil just to see but no diffrence... ill check out the wires though make sure its all tight. the previous owner put another tranny in it , prob 30 000 ago.. wouldent hurt to replace the fluid and filter any way.

thanks for the advice
