I want to know if there is any other model rim with the same bolt pattern as the crown victoria like dodge or chevy or jeep??? I am looking for 20 inch oem black steel rims for my crown victoria interceptor.
The larger aftermarket wheels seem to be popular but since I'm sure you have to go to a thinner series tire (40 or 50?), it would seem there would be less of a cushioning effect from the tires. So it might ride rougher?
Hello Claudia:
As I recall, you live in Cabo. If you are still there, I would think twice about going to low profile tires. I also have a home in Baja and know that low profile tires do not work well on the bumpy roads of Baja.
Baja has it's disadvantages when it comes to roads, but makes up for the rough roads in many other ways. As Mama Espinosa in Santa Rosalia (world's best lobster burritos) said after the road to Cabo was paved in 1972, "good roads bring bad people, bad roads bring good people". We used to ride motorcycles down to Cabo when the trip was an adventurous 1000 miles of the worst dirt roads on the planet. Now my kids and I try to avoid the paved roads to Cabo when we ride there, but I wouldn't want to do it on four wheels, especially with low profile tires. Our "pit stop" beach house is in San Felipe; low profile tires would not make it there. I don't even take my cars to Baja, it's F350 dually or 4WD Excursion territory only, mostly because or tire issues. My '05 sport has 17' wheels with 55 profile tires. Maybe you could find a set of those wheels, they are stock and work well. I think that most p71's have them in steel, so they should be plentiful and cheap.
