Diagnostic Test Code Definitions

Hello All,
I did a diagnostic test on my CV and with the KOEO test it indicated that my EGR was out of range. It also said that the TPS was out of range. Now with the ER test it said the same thing except that it also added that the left bank was running lean. I need to know what these things mean. The wiggle test and the continious monitor test came up with the same codes.I can't find out what these things are in the Haynes manual. If I understood what it meant then I could fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Diagnostic Test Code Definitions

The throttle position sensor and EGR sensors are both connected to your throttle body. Remove the EGR equipment that bolts to (the front of) the EGR spacer (between the throttle body and upper intake [does not require that you remove TB or intake or even air filter assembly]) and clean it out really well with some carb cleaner or something, but be sure to blast it out REALLY well with water, since the residue of carb and brake cleaner can eat at the rubber diaphragm inside the assembly. EGR equipment rarely goes out- it's typically a matter of things clogging up.
Get some electronics cleaner and blast the Hell out of both sensors and both sides of the connectors on both senders.
If you're still having trouble, try replacing the sensors, as they could be fouled.
Run lots of fuel system treatment in your fuel tank if you're still having lean bank issues after you do all that.

Re: Diagnostic Test Code Definitions

Thanks for the info,I replaced the EGR and EGR sensors along with the hoses about a year ago. I cleaned the Throttle body and all the passages leading to the EGR too. I'm gonna clean it again though and see if it helps....it can't hurt.
