ive seen rcmp cars that go completely dark but stay running and then light up as if nothing happened. how are these interceptors able to do this? i have an 03.

If I understand right, it's a special system for the police cars. Not from Ford.

Since he's mentioning RCMP cars I'm assuming he's from Canada where daytime running lights are mandated by the government in all cars. The CVPIs sold to Canadian departments must have a special disable feature for the daytime lights or more likely are U.S. spec cars.

Woah! I just realized my P71 had the dark car option activated and I followed the instructions given. It works like a charm now. I will never turn on my ticket light again. Yay. Golly good show chaps! Thank you. Are there any other wiring tricks I can do? There is a miriad of wires and plugs that ALL appear to have been unplugged recently. Is there cop equipment I can plug back in? Maybe performance Standalone or something?

I know that there's a plug in the b-pillar, behind the plastic that covers the lower part of the seatbelt, that when unplugged disables the rear door controls so that you can't roll down the windows from the back seat. That's about all I can think of right now.

Maybe if your car still has spot lights, you could wire them up to work again.

under the dash on the P71's there are a lot of different wiring for various things, like there is a plug that disables the front door speakers and allows you to use them for radio equipment.

Depending on the skill level of the person who installed/uninstalled the police equipment there could be alot of things left behind. The other day someone on another forum found a control unit for the police cameras hidden under his dash.

I do have a heavy duty speaker / siren looking thing behind my grill. It is about 10" wide and 10" tall with a large horn speaker in the middle. It's name brand is CODE 3 Public Safety Equipment, Inc. I followed the wiring around the by the battery and I lose it up by the fire wall. What is this thing for? It looks serious. I would love to hook up a loud speaker I could talk on. For offroad use only of course.
