Hello! I was wondering if someone could tell me where to disable the warning chimes in my 96 Crown Vic Police Interceptor.
A few days ago, the chime started ringing constantly and I have to take off the battery cable everytime I get out of the car. I went by the Ford dealership and they told me there is a contact in the key tumbler, but when they told me it would cost over $100 just to look at it, I decided that the chime weren't that important to me and I was going to cut the cable. Of course they're not going to tell me which one to cut.
So, does anyone out there know which one to cut?

It's a black/pink wire going into the Lighting control module. If you want to see about the switch itself, turn the key to on and push a 3/16" pin in the hole below the switch through the lower shroud and pull the tumbler out. You'll see the wire to a gold tab there. It also could be the wire from it to the LCM that got grounded along the way.
