Question ??driveshaft??

hello i have a 98 cv lx and i just got a aluminum drive shaft from a 2000 P71 for $16.00. this will just swap in ?? i see that the shaft that is on there has a balancer on the tranny side but the P71 one does not have that am i ok to put it on the car. i can put the balancer on to the P71 shaft by changing the uv joint and taking it off the old drive shaft.

Re: ??driveshaft??

Just swap them out. The balancer is for the old shaft only.

Re: ??driveshaft??

I don't think you'll notice any difference. They're just lighter.

Exclamation Re: ??driveshaft??

so there is no difference between an LX and P71 drive shaft like length??? it seems to me that the p71 shaft is a little shorter like 1/2" or so this will not bug it??

Re: ??driveshaft??

That should be no problem. The cars are identical lentgwise. They had some that were about 5" longer for cabs so that would make the shaft way to short.

Re: ??driveshaft??

This is the difference in lengths:

You won't notice any change unless your old one was out-of-balance.
