EGR Pressure Sensor?

How reliable are these sensors? I read a lot of people mistake a EGR value for this sensor fault.

I have a check engine light that comes on from time to time.. No , I haven't had the system scan yet but I would bet this is my problem. And since I plan to buy new exhaust sensors anyway I didn't had it scan. I found where its at under the hood. It has two small hoses connect to it. I don't want to damage these hoses so I was wonder how to remove them? Do they just slide off or are they clamp on?

Re: EGR Pressure Sensor?

This is DPF sensor. Checked by voltage signal. Hoses are slide-in. Eazy to remove.

Alright, thanks. Have you ever had to replace one?

Re: EGR Pressure Sensor?

I work mostly on Crown Vic's ))
Newer ones (not like on your pic) - doing better.
$47 motorcraft.
Voltage signal should be 0.9 V - 1.2 V
Everything over 1.4 V or below 0.8 V - need to be replaced.

...maybe its fine but sense I'm getting new 02 sensors I'll grab one of these and the EGR value from RockAuto.com on the discount deal.

Re: EGR Pressure Sensor?

I'm on my 3rd one in 4 years. It's hard to say whether or not it's the sensor or carbon buildup down in those tubes.

Re: EGR Pressure Sensor?

I just had my codes read at Autozne. It was two codes: P0161, P0156

The guy said it was my 02 sensors. But which ones? This car has 4..

P0161 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 2)

P0156 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 1)

Edit...

I asked around and was told Bank 2 is on the driver side on fords. So if this is correct both 02 sensors on the driver side has failed. The sensor before the catalytic converter and after the converter.

Are these sensors the same? I thought they relayed didn't information to the computer.

Re: EGR Pressure Sensor?

Yup.. the O2 sensors before and after the cats are bad. the one after the cat is only there to make sure the cats are working.

and they are different sensors but try just replacing the one before the cat (the one after that cat doesn't interfere with performance at all)
