Electrical Wiring Prob on Starting

My daughter had a problem with the battery light coming on in the '98 Crown Vic. We tested it to see if it was the alternator or the battery. The parts store said battery and I went to change it. The terminal broke right off, it was decayed and barely connecting. Problem solved? Not so fast. :BW:
The car started right up with the new battery, but one day later and we are having trouble starting the car every third or fourth time. The engine cranks strong but it won't start (every 3-4 time we go to the car). When it does start, it starts immediately. When it is driven, the light comes on for short (15-30 second) periods. I'm thinking it must be a bad wire, but which one? Could it be something else in the electrical system? Any help would be appreciated. Pictures of any parts to inspect would be great.
Thanks in advance. Hal
