Fast Crown Vic?

Hey guys,

Im brand new here and i have been kickin around the Idea of buying a Crown Vic PI this comming summer. I am very interested in modding the crap out of the engine and drive train to get that cathedral of a car moving! My questions are, 1st lets hear some figures! times, hp and the like. My second question is, what mods are costly and worthwhile to do to the vehical.... Hell lets hear the less costly ones as well . thanks alot in advance and i hope i can be a productive and helpful member to this great forum community!

Re: Fast Crown Vic?

Hutch , I like porting and polishing as one way to get a few extra ponies on the really cheap . Exhaust work is also a great way to get extra power on the cheap . Improving the air flow helps too . If you want to go hog wild , Hey , a totaly engine rebuild with high performance parts , exotic fuels , loads of cash . However , remember this , it's great to have gobs of HP but you will have to STOP the car somewhere down the road so DON"T go cheap by not upgrading your brakes .

Re: Fast Crown Vic?

You can always reduce weight internally.
Remove excess beauty things from the trunk area.
Remove the spare and jack.

If interior creature comforts are not needed then you can do the following.

Remove the rear seats (just as the mustang guys and camaro guys do)
If you have power front seats remove them for racing seats. If you can not afford that then get some manual seats to replace the powered ones. It will reduce the weight.

There are other things....it all depends on if you want to make this a daily driver that you can haul people around in or not.
