First Post / Question

Hello everyone,

I picked up a 99 GM last week with 89k miles and really clean. I found what looks like a vacuum line hanging out right by the OBDII port and traced it back to the firewall. I'm wondering what the heck it is, just out of curiosity. This is the photo https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

Re: First Post / Question

That's for the park brake release. The hose was there even if it didn't have the complete system.

Re: First Post / Question

Thanks! It looks like a vacuum line for some reason and has a 90 degree bend up under the dash. Just never seen anything like it before.

Re: First Post / Question

Made so that if park brake is set, if you put in gear, it automatically releases the park brake . That vacuum line is usually reason for bad vacuum leak unless it has been disconnected . Usually find them disconnected under the dash & blocked/plugged to kill leaks in other cars that were leaking
