I recently obtained a 2001 CVPI with about 2,000 miles on it. The car is in virtually new condition--reportedly used for Ford factory security work. Given that the base warranty (3 years/36,000 miles) expires this November, I approached my dealer to see if I could purchase one of the Ford ESP's. While he wanted to sell me one, he was told by the main Ford ESP office that they wouldn't authorize coverage for a police vehicle, even though it wasn't in police service. Any experience with this policy? Any chance of getting a waiver? My dealer has given up.
