I have my new 1992 Grand Marquis running well now but the remote fuel door button will not open the fuel door. The trunk button works (it as adjacent to the fuel door button). I took the actuator off and tried to clean it, see if any corrosion to the wires were evident but they looked good. I can't even find a replacement part anywhere on the internet. I searched and searched with no luck. The number stamped on the actuator is 1030A. I have to pop the trunk and pull the manual strap to open the fuel door. Thanks in advance.
Is there power at one of the wires to the switch? If there is, try tapping them together with a jumper wire. If it works, the switch is bad. if it doesn't, the wire to the solenoid, the solenoid or the ground from the solenoid has a problem.
