My father has a '92 Ford Crown Vic. He says it won't start because he hit the curb too hard and the fuel pump shut off switch clicked off. He tried to reset it but no luck. Do these switches go bad? Also he can't seem to be able to get the transmission out of park. Any help is appreciated......Tony.
More info would be helpful. Is the switch tripped, but won't re-set? As far as 'can the switch go bad', of course, anything can fail. He should hear a click when the brakes are applied when in park, (engine running) that release the shift lever. It could be bad, there should be an overide for it. Check the owners manual for the location.
