I have a 1998 CVPI. I'm trying to track down what I think is a short in what seems to be several circuits, or one short that is affecting others (Turn signals, headlights, interior lights, air bag, and blower motor).
Before I replaced the blower motor last winter, turning on the heat/AC would at times cause the headlights to "blink" (Relays in LCM clicking), the dome light to glow faintly, the lights in the dash to go wonky, the turn signals flashed quickly, and the airbag light would be lit, not blinking.
After I replaced the blower motor, it worked for awhile before the fuse blew. I hadn't bothered with until recently, but the fuse lasted about five minutes before blowing, the second time it lasted a few seconds. I read at:
Ford Crown Victoria Wiring Harness Problems about wire chaffing possibly causing these problems
I've got wiring diagrams, but is there anything telling me what colors the wires are and how they are routed? And could a faulty resister cause the fuse to blow?, it seems it would either work or be an open circuit, not increase in resistance.
Thanks
