Gas Tank Removel 98 Gm

Has anyone removed a gas tank from 98 or up Grand Marquis. I just wanted to know how difficult of a task it would be and if it would be done by one person with very little fuel in it.
thanks

It can be done by one person, but it is not an easy task. I would empty as much fluid out of the tank as possible before you try to remove it. it would be better if you had one or more there to help in the removal. Fluid in the tank will make it heavier and more difficult to handle.

Re: Gas Tank Removel 98 Gm

Thanks for the info. Finally found a radiator shop to remove the tank and repair it for 100.00 believe it or not. He also said he would never do a job like that again. I gave him 50.00 tip. The dealer wanted about 170 labor and 510 for a new gas tank. I got lucky on this one and never again will I drill a hole in my car or trunk. I was drilling some mounting bracket in the trunk to hold down items, but I made a big mistake with one screw.
Have A Good Day
