I found it, now I blew in it in all holes, nothing came out, seemed to be pretty much restriction free, now the problem is this, the small tube is there intact, the big one, is no longer a hose it was not connected and rotted away, where does it go and what do I ask for at a parts store?
Re: Gas tank vent... bluesteel can probably help here
The big one is your gas tank vent, goes to the top of the tank to let gas pressure out. If the hose is rotted then just use regular vacuum line hose, if the big hose spout is rotted off the black box then you need a new black box, good luck with ford garage, one over here has none but to order one is $147, ya for a tank vent. The small one goes to you'r intake witch lets the gas enter the air intake and gets burned. The small tube has sucken away from the black box and the big one is sucken to the black box from the gas tank.

It could be clogged. Take off the gas cap and blow into the big line. If you can not at all blow any air throught it then its clogged due to sediments or age. It defenenlty would be your scent of gas. I'll see what it takes to clear it. I have a 86 CV that has a clogged tank vent. I'll go through it tomorrow.
Re: Gas tank vent... bluesteel can probably help here
I'm back, I got busy working I forgot all about my computer (and 1 day of school ). Any way. All you got to do is take the gas cap off and blow about 20 pounds of air in the small and big line of the gas tank air vent, any gunk that comes out will get filtered.

Okay, just out of your silence I think some thing went wrong? Did the car blow up? Did deadly vapors come back through the hoses and kill you? Or should I run? :s5 It worked for me.

nah nothing went wrong with my car, a friend wrecked his moms $32 000 car on the highway while I was in it though, everyone was fine but it was one crazy ride, I wasnt even wearin a seatbelt.
But anyway I havnt gotten a chance to do anything with the vent yet, with work and Nationals for paddling... b ut 1 of them is over for a couple weeks
DO I have to pull the tank or anything, and where on the tank is the vent located?
