Hi, remove the lock actuator, take the bracket off, and drive out, or drill out the pop rivet. Even with a proper 1/4" pop rivet you might need for someone to hold the lock actuator in place so you can rivet it back on again. I have used 1/4" X 1/2" long bolts and nuts, for this job, but on some cars this is nearly impossible to do. If the lock actuator is binding or the rubber boot is torn or gone, more than likely the actuator is junk and will need to be replaced with a new part. [or just remove it altogether]
