"GRAND MARQUIS" text on the dash in between stero and HVAC

I'm shopping craigslist for an 03+ M.G.M. I notice some have "GRAND MARQUIS" printed on the dash, and some others have buttons there instead. What are the buttons for and what is the car lacking if it just has the text?

Its an optional clock with hour & minute buttons.

I believe the MGM's with the cassette and cd player do not have the clock built into the radio unit

Look in your owner's manual: Traction Control & adjustable pedals.

Traction Control is located on the left side. I'm pretty sure they are talking about the area where the clock is located in the pic above.

Re: "GRAND MARQUIS" text on the dash in between stero and HVAC

Thank you.

jwko: What is the difference between those two cars with regard to the steering wheel? What cars got all those stereo controls on the steering wheel and what cars did not? I would like to try and find one with those controls. I am looking solely at 03+ models. Can they be swapped into a car that did not have them from the factory? I have above average auto experience.

The pic showing the radio controls (on top) came from here Mercury : Grand Marquis:eBay Motors (item 400072800600 end time Sep-21-09 13:50:26 PDT)

I'm not sure about all the M.G.M options.
