Help removing the hubcap of a 1985 Crown Vic

The title says 89, because I got my birthday mixed up with the cars make year. x|

I have a 1985 LTD Crown Vic that has a flat, and I need to change it so I can sale it. Well the problem is, it has the old Spokes type hubcap, the manual says to just put the crowbar and pry them off, that doesn't work, these have some kind of locking thing, and I don't see anywhere I can unscrew to un-lock them.

I removed the center jewel, and still, nothing behind it that I can unscrew, I've tried prying them, and I can see that one is starting to get pretty bent up on the inside.

can anyone help?

The wheel looks kinda like this

Sorry for the small image.

Re: Help removing the hubcap of a 1989 Crown Vic

Fixed the title for you.

Under the center cap, there should be a bolt in there with a funny looking head on it (round with a sort of wavy groove around it). It's a special anti-theft deal. If you look in the glove box, there should be a special tool for removing that bolt. I know you already said there was nothing in there to unscrew, but I'd recommend taking another look.

Oo, yeah, the funny looking screw driver thing in the glove box, bad thing is, when I bought it, my dad thought it was the peoples I bought it from and gave it to them.

So I dont have it anymore :|

Thanks for the title fix.

And yes, that wavy bolt is in there.

Well, then, the wavy bolt (I'm sure there's a formal name for it, but I haven't the foggiest notion what it is lol) is what's holding it in there, and you'll have to get one of the special tools for removing it. If you have a boneyard near you that deals in some of the older stuff, you can undoubtedly find one; otherwise I'd try eBay or perhaps even the Ford dealer.
