i have a 99 police interceptor the intake manifold cracked at thermostat housing like everyother one out there. pulled a manifold with aluminum housing off a 99 town car which bolts up all the same got brand new intake manifold gaskets wasted 5 hours of my time and every corner of the intake manifold around gaskets is pissin out coolant like no tomorrow, needless to say im pissed off at the design and dont wanna go threw the hassle of taking it all off and have no idea why coolant is spraying out everywhere

Mine still has the plastic one. Did you compare both sets of gaskets and replace the gaskets? They should fit. Can't say what you did to cause that.

yea both gaskets are same part number and both intakes have same bolt ups for everything, its just really frustrating after all that headache of labor to have this happen, im clueless to why its doing this

Did you tighten it with the sequence called for? It could be something got between the gasket and the surface.

yea i cleaned the surface real good before putting the gaskets on and torqued the manifold all in sequence

I've put several on and never had a problem. Looks like you'll have to remove it and see what happened. There's no sealer to put on it. Just install and go.

If the Lincoln engine had overheating problems, could that have warped the manifold he's trying to use?

We haven't had any warped intakes on even overheated engines. Of course none of the engines were overheated so much they damaged the engine itself.

look for anther plastic used one to replace it you may have to have the aluminum intake shaved down to match the block if it is an after market intake
