My 99 CVLX did not come to me with a remote fob. Are there any online resources that can tell the "part" number for the correct remote, using my VIN, without paying a dealer or locksmith? I mean, I'll be happy to go and pay for an extra chipped key or two. But I'm not thrilled to pay $$$ to find out which $7 remote to buy on eBay.
Any ideas?

Bert, that's the exact listing for the remote I bought, but it will not work. I see that there are a few different ID numbers for these remotes and I do not know which is the correct one for my car. I guess I can keep trying.....hit-n-miss until I get the right one. Then have a remote clearance sale on eBay
Or, perhaps I'll just go by my friendly local locksmith next week......

Did the vehicle enter the programming mode? If not, you either did it incorectly, or it isn't working.

Yes, "on-off" four times, door locks cycled indicating programming mode, but no response from the remote. I still think I just have the wrong remote.

if it's cycling the locks, you're good, either the wrong remote, have you made sure the battery is good in the remote?
