Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor

You are either talking about you IAC valve which is on the side of the throttle body, and this will cause the car to stall if unpluged because it allows air into the engine when the throttle plates are closed. Or you are talking about your EGR valve which is attched to a spacer between the throttle body and upper intake manifold.

Ok, thanks guys!

Anyone have a diagram of the plug wires coming off the cap to the plugs?

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor

I forget how it is on the cap but this should help just need to follow each wire to the cap from the plug. Here is how the cyclinders are numbered looking at the engine from the front of the car.

4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor

*update*

I removed the TPS and cleaned it. I do not have access to a voltmeter so I can't check it. I also took off the IAB and cleaned that and the throttle body and choke plate. It did idle well for a minute or so then went back to fluctuating. I noticed if I tap on the TPS while it's running, the idle changes. Would that mean I should go ahead and replace the TPS?

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor

See the TPS might still be good just needs to be adjusted. And the IAC valve you can clean them but that really does not do much if they are no good, But to check the IAC unplug the connector on it and if the car stalls then it is still good.

IAC was fine. I couldn't take the high idle anymore especially at red lights when it would surge, so I took the damn TPS off all together. That brought the idle down, ran rough but could sit at lights now. Got a new TPS this morning, ($36.00), installed it in the parts store parking lot, fired it up...................................................perfect idle!!! Check engine light went out too!!

Thanks for everyone's help!!
