Misfire code help.

Hey guys,

I have a 00 Crown Vic, has a CEL light with P0303 showing, misfire cyl. #3. It misfire bad when cold, but when it reaches operating temp, it runs smooth as glass.

Plugs? Coil? Not sure what to check first. Can anyone provide me with firing order or a diagram of the motor showing which cyl is which #?

Thanks,
Dan

Re: Misfire code help.

Cylinder #3 in on the passenger side and 3rd one from the front.

4 | 8
3 | 7
2 | 6
1 | 5

I would change all the plugs and then move the #3 coil to another cylinder. If the miss comes back and the CEL comes back on, see what cylinder it is reading and you will know wether it is a coil.
