Just curious how much labor would cost on getting a muffler installed on a 97 crown victoria would be.

Been thinking I wanted to make more noise :)

Usually about 1 hr labor is the going rate. Labor at shops vary from $60.00 to $90.00 per hr.

Why rice it out? If you're gonna do it for the sound, that's crap. If you're gonna do it for the performance, you'd be better off using the stock muffler and replacing all the piping with mandrel-bent pipe- that's where most of the restriction is found.

I'd recommend you install dual 2.25" exhaust system with some cheap mufflers. You'll get both sound and performance for not a bad price. I'm replacing my whole system for $200.

I'm doing a dual flowmaster 40 exhaust w/ 2.25" piping, a lot of people said that it was the best bet if you want a nasty sounding motor

hahaha, I dont want to "rice it out" per se...but come on, a car that sounds great is fun to drive, you can't deny me that.

As for replacing the full exhuast, I dont have the money atm and was looking for more immediate gratification. But Ill deffinatley consider that.
