Re: My car is all messed up.

Okay, finally got them disconnected. My back has been killing me so I will put everything else off til tomorrow. Hopefully I will have it all put back together by the end of the weekend. Thanks.

Re: My car is all messed up.

Okay so I have the motor torn all apart. I was just wandering how I go about cleaning everything up,(ex. pushrods, oil galley, block, bolts). The oil galley has a bunch of crud and build up in there and I was just wandering how to clean it up and the pushrods and the block just look nasty. I didn't know if there was a solvent to soak the pushrods in or just wipe them down. The block just looks nasty from all the oil leaking onto it over time. Do the pushrods have to go in the exact same place that they came from. Also, on the driver side, six of the rockers are loose. Anywhere from 1/16" to 1/4" of play. Is this normal? Thanks.

Re: My car is all messed up.

I just finished pulling out the passenger side head bolt and all the top bolts came out clean with what looked like water/antifreeze droplets on them. The other side looked like they were covered in oil or something like that. Is this normal?

Re: My car is all messed up.

After pulling off my fuel rail to clean up the intake, I discovered that my fuel injectors look nasty as hell. Could I use a chrome fuel rail with injectors off of a 90 Mustang for my CV.

Re: My car is all messed up.

mustang injectors are different than our cars... you would need to do a HO cam, injectors heads, and computer from a Mark 7 with a HO in it. if you use mustang injectors, your heads dont breathe right, and is wasted fuel being shot in...

Re: My car is all messed up.

Isn't it 19lb injectors on the CV? Why would it be so much different on the Mustang if they are also 19lb? Still though, does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the block without messing it up or pulling it?

Re: My car is all messed up.

I just dropped off the heads, upper, and lower intake off at the machine shop to get all cleaned off and inspected. I'm going to go ahead and have them redo the seals on the valves just because there is 255k miles on them. I should have them back by Wed so I can start putting it all back together then. I still need input about the fuel injectors. Will not any 19lbs injectors work? I will post pictures as soon as I get done along with a video of the first start up after tearing it apart. First time doing anything like this so hopefully it will start.
