Well I have 3 crowns now (one is a parts car), looking at a forth, and have 5 at a local junk yard (two are parts cars). I have plans for them all and was wondering what some of your thoughts maybe. I'v gone crazy with crowns (as you can see from the numbers). Now, numericaly. My 1981 CV LTD is a parts car. All is stripped down. All that is left is a running motor (you need a screw driver to start is). It has a smashed driver qaurter. I was thinking of turning it into a demo car but I like crowns to much. Maybe dragster material them? Pull the 302 and toss in a nice 400m with tubed rear tucking 34" slicks? Put a new qaurter on it.
Now my 1985 CVLTD. The motor is dead (prevouse owner never changed oil, it clogged the oil pump and destroyed the block). I was going to drop the motor from the 81 CV when my buddie at the local junk yard gave me a 1991 ford bronco with strait axles and converted to a 1989 ford 460 efi engine. But got hit by a train....... Darn train doggers....... I'm thinking of dropping the 460 efi and axles on the crown with vynil seats (for when I go mudding) and call it a CrownCo :) Be cool to see wouldn't it? Crown on sterriods painted black and white.
Now my 1987 CV LTD I'm making into a ultimate luxuray vehical. I'm making servos that will turn the head lights to the direction you steer in. Also will be able to adjust the head lights via a onbord computer. DVDs in the back of the front seats with big ones in the trunk and dash. Wireless keybord and mouse that I can control every thing the vehicle does. I already have a 8 point 600watt sound system with 15" 1200watt subs for the trunk. Got a 500 HP 302 waiting to be put in along with a highperformance electronic transmission from Jet Chips. Also got the air ride system set up to go on. Got the new paint and primer in the garage for it too. Painting it Gloss Jet Black with matalic out line flames. I'm also seeing what mustang parts will fit. I got a 4 link kit by Catapult Suspension that look like they'll fit but I don't know. I got a AOD trans aluminum cooler pan for a mustang on the crown now.
My junk yard CVs. The three good ones are going to be restored to stock and used for what ever, there 76, 80 squire, and 87 squire. The 2 smashed parts cars will be stripped down and crushed, there 82, and 86 squire. I'll save as much as possible.
I'm also working on making fiber glass fenders and hood along with trunk and doors. Its tricky but I think the crown vics shouldn't be left out.
I had a dolorean engine but turned out it was cracked and I tossed it.
Bug you all later. I hop to have pics floating around soon.
