Need Help with CV Purchase - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I am contemplating buying a 2001 CV from a neighbor. Car has 115,000 miles and is in pretty good shape. No rust that I can see. A/C blows cold. Brakes probably will need cahnged in a few thousand miles. Leather interior is in excellent shape except for normal rub on the drivers side. Only negative I have found is a squeak from the front end when I came off of the driveway. Is ther anything I should be looking for? He wants $2500. Appreciate the help. Thanks/Greg

Check for a dried out sway bar bushing or a seized or broken sway bar link. Not too much $$$. Price seems ok.

The stops rub (sometimes even groaning) when making tight turns unless you put a little grease on 'em. Try a little grease in the pocket and make the turn again.
