I have a Canadian made/plated 1991 Grand Marquis here in Arizona and a young local lad is looking to buy it. The car passed the state emissions but now they say they need a letter from Ford stating the vehicle meets U.S. safety standards before the title can be changed over. I called a couple of dealers in the Phoenix area and they said they can only go back 10yrs on the v.i.n. A dealer back in Canada said they would do it for $150.00! Anyone here work at a dealership that can maybe help me out or give me some direction? Thanx...Dan

Thanx for that...but I believe I need something that shows the car meets U.S. safety standards...is there a code or number in the vin that would indicate that?

The fourth digit gives the restraint system. C = Driver Airbag and Active Belts
