Hello Crown Victoria people. This isn't my first post to FordForums, but my first personal one. I recently bought my first Crown Victoria and it's been fastastic so far. With little problems like a broken wire in the drivers side door for power locks and emission control problems, I wouldn't get rid of it.
Story goes that one sunny day I was at a wreckers looking for a transmission for my 82 Impala after the last one was ruined by a garage (now out of buisness) and there was this car sitting on death row. What death row is is a cars' last chance to be bought as a whole car before put into the pile to be disassembled by people wanting to make frankensteins out of their cars. (I believe buying parts new is the only way to go.) It seemed no one wanted this car and I passed by it several times a week while trying to fix my ruined Impala.
So I asked for the keys and did my quick check, seeing if it started, ran, went in reverse, drive... everything seemed to work well and the car ran really well considering it looked all stock, ignition and all. So carelessly I threw done the money to buy it and off I went, an owner of a crown victoria.
To this day it's been a tune up and lots of sunny highway driving and nothing has gone catastrophically wrong. Except for a broken tire belt. New dual exhaust, cd player... junk that makes me a happy man.
Specs? It's a Canadian model, so it came with a 351 windsor on an over drive transmission. It's my guestimate all of them are over drive. I don't know much else like gears, except it's bone stock. So that's what gearing it has.
I've added more images in my gallery. If there's something you want to see, ask.
