Newbie w/ a Vic, having trouble with trans
First off I'ma newbie, secondly, this is my first Ford and I'm lovin' it, BUT (and it's a strong but), it's giving me trouble.
I bought it with the trans shot, got the trans rebuilt ($1100) and got it reinstalled.
It rode well for 896 miles. I went back to the guy who rebuilt it and we had "that" talk. He instructed me to drop my pan and check what's going on at the bottom of my pan. I did so and it was just dirty (little or no sludge). I changed the filter and put new fluid in it and...it ran fine.
It ran fine for another 100 miles or so. And now it seems like it stick (the pump seems clogged).
I can burn rubber in reverse, but can go anywhere in drive. Before that I could burn rubber in drive, but nowhere in reverse.
I've been perusing forums daily because I don't have a $1100 to shell out for trans install and I've learned that I flawed in 2 maybe 3 things; I know I should've gotten a new torque converter, a new trans cooler line and did a complete flush.
I'm stuck now (both literally and figuratively), so I need y'all help.
