This is probably the most anoying thing about my car. THe horn for whatever reason does nothing. I noticed it one day while trying to honk a dog out of my way.

I would just start poking around, but I have airbags and fear eityher A.) breaking them and they not performing when I need them, B.) somehow dischraging them accidentally and injuring myself.

Whats the best method to diagnose why my horn has fallen silent. Is this common for cop cars turned civillian?

Of course check fuses first.
Put a test light on the wire going to the horn while someone tries it. If it shows power, then the horn is bad. No power check relay and connection of horn pad.

I agree with thefonz. Go to the horn and use a test light. Have an assistant hit the button and see if power is their first.
