I'm certain it is. If it's like my other transmissions you'll have to drop the trans pan to gain access to it.

Re: O/D light

oh no, what I posted sits outside the transmission and is connected to the gear linkage.

Did the OBD code itself tell you which solenoid it was?

Re: O/D light

Where can I get the manual for my particular transmission, the one I have from haynes does not include the one I have. Haynes Ford Automatic Transmission Overhaul (10355). Just notice it does not include any model with solenoids inside the trans.
Thanks

Re: O/D light

Does anyone have the resistance range for the solenoid? Mine does not seem to be visualy damaged. Here is a pic of my Transmission Control solenoid: mex2texzz's 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis - Brownsville, TX

and here is a pic of the available part from AZone: AutoZone.com | | Transmission Control Solenoid | TRANS CONTROL SOLENOID

Thanks for your help!

Re: O/D light

They don't show a problem and can be sticking with the proper resistance. Check our sponsor, Rock Auto, they have a discount to our members.
