i have a 2002 crown vic p71 and it started with a small ticking noise and one just started clacking real loud and i have no oil pressure the car will stay running but has no power any ideas on what it is?

Hello and good day:

Sounds like you bad Valve, lifter, have you checked the Oil?
You may have a cracked Head, or a cylinder...look for a milky color in the oil.

First, do not drive or run the engine with no oil pressure or the engine will become damaged. My guess is that the oil pump quit working. When this happens the oil pressure will drop low or to zero. Oil is no longer getting to the valve train and lifters begin to make lots of rattling noise. It will start with a few clicking and clacking noises and after a minutes or so will turn into an awful loud rattle and loud tapping at the top end of the motor. If you are able, replace the oil pump. If you are not able, have it towed to a service station. DO NOT drive it.

ok thanks i have not drove the car since it happened because i bought a 94 mustang but i would like to get my old car running again whats the best way to check if the oil pumps not working?

Get a mechanical gauge and see what the pressure shows. I'm sure the oil has been changed regularly and is full.
