Hi Everyone-
I'm new here, and I am looking for a P71 Crown vic, newer body style. What should I look for specifically when I am going to check out cars? Are there any problems inherent with this body style? I'm going to look at a 99 p71 in a few days with 113k on the clock, how do these cars do with higher mileage? Thanks a lot

For the price, they're good deals- just gotta watch the transmissions. I'd say try to trace the history back and get one that was a Captain's Unit or a gopher unit (one that stayed at the station until someone needed to go somewhere)- you know, unmarked units... they don't have the extreme driving the patrol cars did.

Just my opinion. If I was in the market for a new ride, I'd be doing the same as you- I love the police package.

If you can't find a Captain's or Gopher cruiser, I would suggest looking at the highway patrol versions. They aren't idled as much as the muni cruisers. Also, look for CV's from states with little snow to avoid rust.
