The Car now has a Black Lusterless Base Coat of paint Applied..This has enhanced the ability to discover any flaws in the Body work...So far none have been detected!!!Thankfully!!!...The car has been gone over with levels to check all the alignment of the area that were repaired....The Hood is safely Re-Installed and Aligned as of today....The guys even masked off the Underhood Lighting wire harness prior to priming and base coating the Underhood area....You may remember My Modification to the Purely under-achieving light system that Ford uses from the factory for Engine bay Lighting....My car when purchased had No Underhood Insulation Blanket or Lighting like it's LX Civilian counterpart does....The factory Trunk and single Underhood light is the same Bulb and output of the Glovebox Light....Very Poor considering the area it has to Illuminate!!.....I found a Pigtail Connection off a 91 CV LX...I connected it to the factory connection point.....I also butt-spliced in a second light minus the factory Bulb Plug in!!...I found two wrecked 80's Vintage Ford Escorts that have Underhood Lights the same size as a Police Package Vehicles Overhead Dome /Reading Light....This Really lights up both sides of the engine bay....This also did not effect the Mercury switch that turns off the lights as the Hood is Lowered.....Pretty Crafty if I do say so myself!!!......Hopefully tomorrow will bring more progress....Hopefully yet again !! The Week #7 report will be of the car being safely in my Garage again..........Thanks for reading..........Allen :p

Holding pattern!!

JW , I have held off on the Engine until the car is safely back home...Raymond the Machinist has a full plate as is with all the Ricer Motors He begrudgingly gets paid to repair...Those People are the most screwy bunch....He cringes at thier corner cutting request on repairs...and calmly sets them straight ...or shows them the door....He believes in up-holding a great reputation as a good Machinist and Engine Builder....I have to respect that.... ahve been saving my money to buy all the remaining needed items at once......Allen:nuts:

Box Rocks forever

I just got my front door skins from ford for my 87 wagon. I repainted the partitions and painted the jambs back to the original black. Once I've skinned the front doors I'll paint them white on both sides. So far I have $1,900. into materials (not parts). It costs to do this right. I'll also sandblast and powder coat the push bumpers and wheels. I have the engine and wiring out to do the engine compartment. This is definitely going to be my last restoration.... I'm too old for this but I want it right, like the Gremlin I have.
