2000 Crown Victoria - The door handle has to be jerked upward hard to get the door to unlatch. Also, on the inside the door opening lever appears to be loose but still will open the door. What could be possibly wrong?? Also what are the best steps to taking the door panel off to see a possible problem? THANKS I NEED YOUR HELP

There are 3 screws in the panel and you lift it up to remove it. Pulling it out will break the tabs that hold it in. Here's apage one the rear door linkage installation and shows how to remove the rear panel. The front is similar. The rod from the outside handle probably is out of adjustment. The latch doesn't have to be removed. The yellow clip, shown in a picture on the site< has to be popped off and reset. Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor P71 Rear Door Parts

THANKS for all your help on that information. If I have a good mechanic perform this adjustment what do you think it will take him in hours to either make the adjustment or add an assembly? 1, 1.5 or 2 hours? Thanks for your help. This is good information.

Depends on the mechanic nad how well he knows the car. And what is the actual problem. My guess it's the adjustment but without taking a look at it, I couldn't be sure.
