Can anyone help me out? Need some advice on how to proceed with a very nice 1997 P71 Mass State Police. Only 90K but has the annoying exhaust manifold leak that I would like to get fixed. It is my wives daily driver, we both love the vehicle. Wondered if this is something we should take back to the dealer, or find a reputable local mechanic to fix. What should I expect to spend? and would it be adviseable to get both sides replaced at this time?

YEP im here and this could be costly to fix as the car probaily has an exhaust stud broken .They are not nice to repair .It cost me $200. just to remove the 1 broken stud plus R and R at $310 all fixed. When you do this repair have the shop replace all the studs on that side of the engine because this is a known issue that ford put cheap chinese crap studs in there engines.Make sure they install grade #8 bolts this time.The car is worth the money then do the repair and injoy the beast.
