confused Performance programming or chip?

Greetings Enthusiasts! I'm new here and have been searching, but can't find any info on plug and play horsepower. I like to add about 50 hp or so to my 99 Marquis. I've looked at Bully Dog performance tuners, but am afraid to spend $400 for a machine that might not even give me 10 more horses. I know the 4.6 is capable of much much more than the stock 200hp.

Re: Performance programming or chip?

Usually for a gas engine takes more than a tuner to add that kind of power. I would be looking elsewhere to add power. Don't be fooled into other false adders like cold air intake ect. I don't do much with performance so will let someone else chime in but will say don't buy the tuner until one is needed.

Welcome to the site!

A few answers might be found in the blogs under "K&N cold air issues"

Beware of your state's emissions laws before making any modifications that you can't undo.

Welcome aboard!

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?
