When driving with the A/C on the "check Engine" light came on & the car drove with a terrible surging. Diagnostics indicated the engine temp was reading -0 degrees C. Was when car was warmed up & 65 degrees out. Guess it was then giving too much gas. Had code reset & car runs fine without A/C.

Mechanic attempted to replace temp sending unit in the plastic intake manifold but the metal hex base of the sensor wants to turn. Fear is that the intake manifold will crack.

Any suggestions?
