I'd like to replace the oxygen sensor and trunk lock on my 98 Crown Vicky.Does this car have more than one?I want the fuel sensor one.Also do I have to remove the lower trunk lid facing to get at the lock.I tried to remove it by taking out all the retaining nuts but it still won't come off.Thanks.

They have 4 O2 sensors. 2 behind the cats to chec cat efficiency, and 2 just behind the header connection for fuel control. What's the reason you want to change them? You have to remove the trunk lower panel to get to the rivets.

I've had to replace them on previous older vehicles of high mileage due to age and poor fuel economy.My Vicky has 178,000km on it and I assumed it needed replacement,not knowing what it's life span is on a vicky.I get 6-7 litres per 100km on the highway using criuse and overdrive and 8-10 in the city which I think is good.
(32-34 mpg american highway,22mpg city)These are averages,they change a little due to headwinds,city traffic etc.Thanks .

You shouldn't have to replace them unless its throwing the code, poor fuel economy is most likely something else (try doing a tune up and oil change first)

Tha mileage you're getting is very good. I'd leave the O2 sensors alone. Mine have 152,000 miles on them

Oooo didnt even notice the bottom part showing his MPG.... which is VERY good right where it should be

I will leave them alone Bert.As for the trunk lid,I removed all the panel nuts from the inside but there doesn't seem to be anything holding the top part of the panel.The bottom part lifts out but the top won't come loose.Is there something I missed or is it just stuck.Thanks.

There are 2 screws holding the license light and the panel in. Did you remove them?
