Resetting the ABS light
Hello,
my 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis started to show the abs warning light in the dash about a month ago.
It came on every now and then, and when off the ABS would kick in at low speeds.
For the last 2 weeks the light has always been on.
I found the front left sensor bend and got myself a new one, replaced it and watched for any changes.
Now nothing has changed to the light, and it still is on all the time.
Tried unhooking the negative of the battery, first for a few minutes. This didn't change anything. Then for a few hours, wich did not have any affect as well.
Searched the internet on how to reset the abs warning light, but could not really find an answer except for having the computer reset at the local dealer.
Is there a trick to get the light out without going to the dealer?
By the way, how many abs speed sensors does the 1997 MGM actually have?
Thanks!
Vincent
