Right Rear Door Latch

Interior door handle does not open the right rear door on my '07 CVPI. Removed the trim panel, door does not have a rain shield (booooo). Handle had a door rod attached to it. The rear of the rod was just hanging free inside the door and wasn't connected to anything. Discovered the latch is missing the nylon bushing to which the inside door rod attaches.

Somebody's going to tell me I can get this part without having to buy a new latch....right?

Re: Right Rear Door Latch

Most of those you can get at the dealer. I know the yellow ones you can.

Re: Right Rear Door Latch

I did not know about the yellow pushrod keeper but I bought one at the Ford dealer for $1. It worked perfectly with a piece of 5/32" wire with the proper bend at both ends. Now my right rear door opens from the inside at a cost under 3 bucks. That's one reason why I like this car and sold my Volvo; many things are easy to fix. For example, on my V70R that I just sold, a replacement headlight assembly is $1K and you have to remove the bumper cover to get to it. On the CVPI, you can get two new headlight assemblies for about $50. That works. I like these cars.
