Spark Plug Blowout

So it finally happened to me, one of my spark plugs blew out of the head of my 2000 p71 about a mile from school. I removed the plug and coil and disconnected the fuel injector and limped back to school. Would there be any damage done if i were to drive it home (70 miles) this way to my mechanic? Or would i be better off finding a local shop that also does timeserts?

Usually happens if someone installs them too tight. The aluminum head expands and pulls the threads out.

I wouldn't recommend driving it that far. That would be my call.

Re: Spark Plug Blowout

Hi jcleve0.
Good job on disabling the injector and spark to that cylinder. That cylinder is only blowing air now, so no damage should be done to it, but it may sound interesting! May put the mil light on though.
If your mechanic is good, i would take the 70 mile trek with confidence.

good luck.
Andy
