Exclamation Steering troubles

Having trouble with the power steering in the 1994 Grand Marquis, it started making crunching/grinding noises when I turned sharper, so I brought into get checked out and they couldnt find anything. Its now getting worse, the steerings getting loser and it smelt like something was burning..could this be the steering box??...need help!!!

Is the pump leaking or low on fluid? If the pump is binding it might be causing the belt to slip and smoking the belt and that could be what you smell.

I think it may be leaking a bit it seems to be going down, ive put some lucas stop leak in.
