Stooooopid Child Locks!!!!

All,
Long story short...
The outside RL door handle on my '97 CV broke, so you couldn't open the door from the outside. Now the child lock has been engaged (I wasn't thinking...seemed like a good idea at the time) so I can't get the door to open at all.

Anyone know if I could disengage the child lock with a slim jim or by some other method?

Thnanks!
B

Re: Stooooopid Child Locks!!!!

On the 97 doesn't it have a lock nob on the front of the rear door on the top. Pull that. Or does your car have electronic door locks? If you have none of these, feel free to lubricate the RR door because your going to be using it allot :)

I think he is talking about the childlock bluesteel

Unfortunately I do not know how to fix this... there has to be some way tho, how about taking off the inside panel of the door to gain access to the lock and messing around untill it unlocks?

Re: Stooooopid Child Locks!!!!

He can not open the door. The panel will only come off if the door is open, to the best of my knoledge. With my dads 99 F-350 truck I can disengage the childlocks by pulling on the door lock stub. Also I can't disengage it via the electronic unlock. What I wanna know is, is the door smashed in, warn, or or just stress broke (pulling real hard on handle).
