Re: Suspension squeaking noise

When does it squeak, turning the wheel, over bumps, cold and goes away warm, always there?

Re: Suspension squeaking noise

This thread seems to have died, but I am going revive it. I have a 94 Grand Marquis with the same problem. It squeaks when turning the steering wheel and also when going over bumps. When parked I can make it squeak by bouncing the suspension the passenger side. The driver's side is completely silent. I have try spraying it with some success, but only briefly after a few days the noise comes back.

Re: Suspension squeaking noise

Listen with a piece of hose while someone turns the wheel to see if you can pinpoint it. Have you raised it and checked for any looseness?

Check the upper and lower balljoints .As they dry out they will sqeuak before they break.

Re: Suspension squeaking noise

i have this issue with my fiance's 1992 Grand Marquis... it has 325,xxx miles ... to find looseness jack the front up one side at a time under the control arm... check it by grabbing tire and moving side to side then up and down... i found bad control arm bushings on top and one bad ball joint... this also lets you check condition of tie rod ends too

Re: Suspension squeaking noise

I had the same problem on my 98 CVPI it was a bad lower ball joint.
Call around to your local shops and see who will do a free front end inspection, take the car there and they should be able to tell you what the problem is. If your handy you can do almost all the labor yourself and save a ton of money. I have replaced 4 tie rods, Idler arm 2 upper 2 lower ball joints on my car myself for under $200 for parts and saved myself around $1000 in shop labor charges.
PS.... If A Ball Joint breaks while you are driving/moving You Will Have An Accident/CRASH!

Re: Suspension squeaking noise

Well, I have determined that it is the ball joints. I am heading to NAPA later today to get the new ones. Gonna go ahead and replace upper and lower on both sides. I'll let you guys know if this fixes the problem.

Re: Suspension squeaking noise

i would use a jack under the lower "A" arms and lift the corners and shake the front side to side and up and down if possible... the bushings in the control arms go out and make noise too
