I would like to throw some BFGoodrich Radial T/A's on my '88 CV with 14x7 and 15x8 Appliance rims. I would like to retain a stock sidewall size for the 14" rims up front, and also keep the factory sidewall height in the rear which I believe is a 70 series. However I would like to put wider tires on the rear, and keep 225s up front. I'm currently shopping on tirerack, and I've picked out 225/70/14 for the front, and 255/70/15 for the rear.
How wide of a tread could I go on the rear rims being 8" wide? Does that sound like a good combination?
